In November of 2015 I was a visiting artist at Carthage College in Wisconsin. After my lecture I met with students to discuss one-point-perspective. The most fundamental of fundamentals (at least when it comes to representing space on a 2-d plane). Meg, pictured above, was stuck and needed some additional assistance to comprehend horizon line. I spoke with her to explain that one's eye level corresponds to the the placement of the horizon line. After that she worked much better.
